SECRET IDENTITY

I have been a little concerned about my old boss and friend from AVSuperstore. Back in October whenever I came in to visit the sides of his face were getting very very hairy! MUTTON CHOPS!! Oh no......is this a new fad? Was his cheeks just starting to get cold and he wanted built in warmers? Was he bitten by a werewolf and was starting to turn? I asked many many different questions but there was only one plausible answer.....

His secret identity was WOLVERINE!!!

THIS IS WHAT YOU SHOULD DO!

A HEART-HEALTHY PRAYER FOR THE HOLIDAY: BY UNKNOWN
Lord, grant me the strength that I may not fall
Into the clutches of cholesterol.
At saturated fat, I'll never mutter,
For the road to hell is paved with butter.
And cake is cursed and cream is awful.
And Satan is hiding in every waffle.
Beelzebub is a chocolate drop,
and Lucifer is a lollipop.
Teach me the evils of hollandaise,
of pasta and gobs of mayonnaise.
And crips fried chicken from the South,
Lord, if you love, SHUT MY MOUTH!

WHAT A PRETTY MERMAID!

My niece Abby loves to act. Right now she is in a production of "The Little Mermaid" and was cast as Arials sister. This is a picture of Abby during one of her performances. Is'nt she beautiful! I want to say she takes after me, but she definitely takes after her mom and dad in the looks department. My mom and dad (Gma and Gpa) flew down to see her in the play. They just flew back in today and they both said Abby was wonderful. I cant wait for the family to come up for Christmas because they will be bringing a tape of the play, that way we all will get a chance to see Abby perform.

Tamarack

This is me and one of my best friends in the whole world, Ann Singer. I have known Ann since the 7th grade. I used to take piano lessons with a minister's wife that lived down the street and Ann had her lessons right after mine. Well, lets say we didnt really like each other at first and she used to come early to make me nervous!! LOL
However, we ended up becoming the best of friends and even to this day I know she will always be there for me.

Ann, me and her daughter Missy went up to McCall and this is a picture of when we went up to Tamarack to take a look see. It was soooo pretty!

MY MOM AND I WERE JUST TALKING ABOUT THIS

This is so wierd. My mom and I were just talking about this picture. How nobody ever really knew for sure who the two people were. I love this picture though. What a wonderful way to say "War is Over"!!

NEW YORK (AP) -- A 90-year-old who says she's the woman being kissed by a sailor in Times Square in one of World War II's most famous photographs reunited in town with the Navy on Sunday -- days before she is to serve as grand marshal of the city's Veterans Day parade.
Edith Shain of Los Angeles, donning a white nurse's uniform like the one she wore back in 1945, went to see the musical revival of "South Pacific" and posed for pictures, being hoisted off her feet on stage by five of the actors in their Navy whites.
On Tuesday, she'll ride in the parade at the head of a contingent of World War II veterans.
The "South Pacific" event was a touching reminder of history, but very different from August 15, 1945, the day Shain recalls that she joined thousands of people whooping it up after Japan surrendered. Right there on Broadway and 45th Street, a sailor suddenly grabbed and kissed her -- and the moment was caught by Alfred Eisenstaedt, a Life magazine photographer.
His picture from V-J Day became one of the 20th century's most iconic images. But Eisenstaedt didn't get the names of either party, and efforts years later by Life to identify them produced a number of claimants, says Bobbi Baker Burrows, a Life editor with deep knowledge of the subject.
About 1980, Shain recalls, she wrote a letter to Life, identifying herself as the woman in the nurse's uniform. Eisenstaedt wrote back and later visited her in California and gave her a copy of the photo. But Eisenstaedt, who died in 1995, was never sure that Shain was the woman in the photo, Burrows said.
Because of renewed interest in the subject, she recalled, "Life decided to run an article saying, `If you are the sailor or the nurse in the picture, please step forward."'
"We received claims from a few nurses and dozens of sailors, but we could never prove that any of them were the actual people, and Eisenstaedt himself just said he didn't know," she said.
Even the fact that Shain stands only 4 feet 9 isn't helpful in analyzing the photo, in which the sailor has her in what looks more like a death grip than an embrace, with both of their faces obscured.
By her own account, Shain said she could not identify the bussing boy in blue.
"I went from Doctors Hospital to Times Square that day because the war was over, and where else does a New Yorker go?" she said. "And this guy grabbed me and we kissed, and then I turned one way and he turned the other. There was no way to know who he was, but I didn't mind because he was someone who had fought for me." Watch a WWII veteran's memories »
At least three veterans still lay claim to being the kissing sailor, and at least one other woman has claimed to be the nurse. But Shain, who left nursing to become a kindergarten teacher in Los Angeles for 30 years, appears to hold the edge -- by virtue of persistence, an effervescent charm and unabashed patriotism.
"As for the picture," she says, "it says so many things -- hope, love, peace and tomorrow. The end of the war was a wonderful experience, and that photo represents all those feelings."

I'm Famous

Well most of you know that I do enjoy a good South Park episode once in a while. As luck would have it, I was asked to host an episode where all the boys: Cartman, Kenny, Stan and Kyle all fall in love with my character. It should air sometime in 2009.

I was able to sneak out the publicity photo so you could take a sneak peak before it airs. I must say I had a really good time doing the show and I will let you know well in advance what day it will be showing. That way you can mark it on your calenders. LOL

SOUTH PARK OBAMA EPISODE

Last nights South Park episode was so funny. I have a link to a clip of the episode below:

From The Huffington Post:

It didn't take long for the notoriously-fast-working folks at South Park to lampoon President-Elect Obama. Last night's episode featured the president-elect, Michelle Obama, John McCain and Sarah Palin. The episode, "About Last Night," revolves around an Ocean's 11-style plot to steal the Hope diamond.

ANOTHER TV SHOW BITES THE DUST!

KING OF THE HILL IS BEING CANCELLED!!

Yahoo News: Los Angeles-

Final episodes of the half-hour series, now in its 13th year, likely will air during the 2009-10 season, Fox said Friday. The network recently ordered 13 new episodes, and animated series have a long production schedule.
Jim and I have enjoyed this show for quite awhile. From Bobby's "That boy just ain't right" shinanigans to Peggy's sooo bad Spanish and her Spapeggy to Hank and the guys "Yup" in the alley way. Will we ever know how Luann's and Lucky's little baby turns out? Will Bill ever get remarried, and speaking of that what ever happened to Kahn's Mama that Bill was dating? Will Bobby and Kahn Jr. ever get hitched. Will Dale ever realize that Joseph is John Redcorn's biological son? And will Boomhower EVER learn how to speak comprehensible ENGLISH!! LOL
It is a funny cartoon and it is family friendly. Jim and I enjoy most of the "Adult" cartoons: The Simpsons (of course), Family Guy, American Dad, South Park, Futurama, Spongebob Squarepants but I must admit most of them leave alittle bit to be desired in the "Everybody in the family can watch it" catagory.

Our Poor Little State Senator!

Well I just about laughed my "you know what" off when I found this cartoon. When Jim was traveling alot last year he had enough miles that he ended up in first class and he often found himself seated next to Larry Craig on the plane. After the Senator's little mishap in the restroom we used to ask Jim if he ever saw the Senator tapping his foot and stuff like that. LOL!!! I'm afraid there were alot of jokes at Larry Craigs expense. However, I say if your a public figure and you're going to do STUPID stuff like that, your "Fair Game"!! YIPPY!!! THANK YOU...THANK YOU...THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!
I passed my Federal and State exam. So that means I now only have to interview with a broker (I want to interview with John L Scott). And if they sign my little piece of paper saying that I can work in their brokerage firm, then I can take my four exam certificates, my brokers signature paper, my high school diploma (where ever that might be hiding) and my finger prints and I can go get my license!
I have a friend who has been in the business for 20 years who works for John L Scott and she is going to mentor me. So she will show me the ropes and hopefully show me some tricks of the trade!! My friend Angie who works for Group One also invited me to interview with her broker also. She says he is fabulous!! Gee, it's so nice to be wanted!! LOL

One Test Down, Three To Go!!

Hi Everybody, Sorry I haven't posted in a while. As you know, I started Real Estate School last Monday and I took the excellerated course which crammed 90 hours in to 10 days. Up at 6am, (which is not my hour of choice to get up) and out of school at 6pm. Long days thats for sure. Not too much time to do anything else.

My instructor Mike Gamblin is the best! This man should be a motivational speaker. He has made everything we are learning very interesting. I am very thankful I choose his school to get my education from. (By the way Angie B, if you read this, he remembers you from when you took his class).

One thing I have learned......there is an art to studying and retaining information. And I do NOT have that gift!! That's why I THANK GOD I have a great instructor. And if it wasn't for Jim (hubby) trying to drill the math into my head I know I would be floundering.

But..........I am happy to say I passed my first test on Friday and I got a 96! I even got the ONE MATH QUESTION correct! Though I did have to put it on the back burner and come back to it later because it was frustrating me to no end. I was the last one to finish but I didn't care, I wanted to make sure I didn't rush anything. What's the saying? "Last but not least" LOL

So Monday I start Module II. I am excited to find out what we learn next. Oh by the way, my instructor looks JUST LIKE Anthony Perkins. And then one of my classmates looks exactly like Patrick Stewart (John Luc Picard from Star Trek) and another one looks just like the mom from Gilmore Girls. LOL

So I probably will not write anything next week either because I only have so much time to study, but I will let you know if I pass or not next Friday. WISH ME LUCK!!!!

IM GLAD HE'S NOT MY DENTIST!

Dentist Who Hates It When That Happens: Anne Greer filed a lawsuit in June against Winter Park, Fla., dentist Wesley Meyers over the death of her father last year during procedures to secure his dentures with implants. During the October 2006 visit, Meyers had accidentally dropped a screwdriver down the patient's throat, which required a colonoscopy to remove. The man returned the following year to give Meyers another chance (against his daughter's wishes), and during that procedure, Meyers accidentally dropped a torque wrench down his throat, creating problems that ultimately proved fatal. Seven Things You Do Not Know About Me

My friend Angie tagged me today so I guess I am now IT.
1. I wanted to be an Archeologist when I was young. But as I grew older I realized that Idaho probably didn't have a market for Archeologists. And at that time I was not planning on moving from Boise.
2. When I was in sixth grade my favorite singer was Cher. I just loved her! I would listen to her albums (yes the old fashioned vinyl kind) and sing and sing and sing. I also liked the Sonny and Cher show!
3. I am always trying out different homeopathic remedies. I have finally found a couple that are going to be long term. JUS and Calli/Fortune Tea.
4. I hate housework! I'm sure most people don't like it but I really really truely hate it. I'm sure I must have been a princess in a former life time and had maids and servents that cleaned up after me.
5. I am a very shy person. I would give anything to be able to chit chat with anybody about anything. You know how some people can go into a room and just start chit chatting, I on the other hand freeze up like a clam.
6. If I could choose one profession to be good at I would love to be a famous writer. I would love to write books and articles and screen plays. However, I do not know the first thing about writing and where you get ideas and where you would even start. So I blog instead which has been so much fun!
7. I always wonder what I would have been like if my parents had stayed in California instead of moving to Idaho when I was six. What kind of friends would I have had? Would I have been a problem child? What would I be doing now for a living? Who would I be married to? Questions like that. But let me tell you....I wouldn't have traded growing up in Boise for anything.
OK, now I am suppose to tag my blog friends. Unfortunately (besides Angie who tagged me) I only have one other blog friend and her name is Tancy (and Tancy just started a new job being a school teacher and her and her husband are right in the middle of remodeling their home and they have four active kids so I'm not sure if she is going to have time to write about herself).
And last but not least, I don't know how to do a link to another page. So I think as far as this tag is concerned I'm OUT!
LOL

Memory Sisters at the Farmers Market

There are a couple of sisters that own a company called Memory Sisters www.memorysisters.com and they have a booth down at the Farmers Market. They hand paint on fabric and one of their most popular items is the Goddess Scarf that is silk and in the form of a Goddess. However you can only see the Goddess if you lay it out flat otherwise it looks like a beautiful multi colored silk scarf when you are wearing it.
About a month ago, I finally decided to purchase one of these beautiful scarfs (which are pretty expensive-but worth every penny) and as one of the sisters was wrapping up my purchase she said "Make sure you come back and let us know what kind of Goddess stories you encounter".
Well, I brought my purchase home, showed Jim and he said it was "Nice" (guys don't appreciate hand painted silk scarves like woman do) and then I put the scarf on my dining room table. The next morning I woke up and I was looking out the window to the back yard and I see something laying on the ground that was very colorful! OMG!!! I shouted and ran outside (in my PJ's) and there was my poor Goddess Scarf laying in a big heap.
Bohdan had taken it off the table and I'm not sure which dog did it but one of them ended up chewing off the top part of my scarf. The poor poor Goddess, she didnt even have a chance to adorn my neck before being chewed up!
When I was at the market last Saturday, I stopped by the Memory Sisters booth and told them my story. "A terrible tragedy" they said with a twinkle in their eyes and I could tell they were trying really hard not to laugh. They did chuckle though. One of the sisters said they could make me a commemorative scarf by hand painting the tragic scene onto a new scarf. I might just have to have them do that and have Jim get it for me for Christmas!!! LOL
Enjoy the pictures!

Boise City Farmers Market

Mom, Billie and I went down to the Boise Farmers Market on Saturday. The older ladies LOVE their fig jam and the Jam Lady that has a booth down at the market apparently makes the best fig jam around. Not that I can attest to that because you are not going to get me to eat fig jam.
Anyways, we had a lot of fun. Tasting the samples, drinking a little wine, watching the shows and of course people watching. There are a lot of interesting people out there.

My Family Will Appreciate This Story!

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — It wasn't just the caffeine that gave an Iowa woman an extra jolt after she had her morning coffee. It was also the bat she found in the filter.
The Iowa Department of Public Health says the woman reported a bat in her house but wasn't too worried about it. She turned on her automatic coffee maker before bedtime and drank her coffee the next morning.
She discovered the bat in the filter when she went to clean it that night. The woman has undergone treatment for possible rabies.
Health officials say that the bat was sent to a lab but that its brain was too cooked by the hot water to determine whether it had rabies. (From the Associated Press)
Ok Family, this could be us the next time we are up at the cabin!!!!!

Paul Newman, the legendary actor whose steely-blue eyes, good-humored charm and advocacy of worthy causes made him one of the most renowned figures in American arts, has died, his spokeswoman told CNN today. Newman was 83. He died of cancer Friday at his home in Westport, Connecticut, said spokeswoman Marni Tomljanovic

My MOM

I found a black and white picture of my mom standing by an old car (I believe she is in her early 20's) and my friend Jeremiah helped me color it and take the car out. When mom's birthday rolled around last December I put it in the paper with a little poem.
Mom looks sooo cute!
